Amanda Rondeau, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Amanda Rondeau, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, launched her nursing journey as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2007, quickly advancing to Registered Nurse (RN) in 2009 and amassing over 18 years of hands-on clinical expertise. Her foundational roles spanned over 4 years in med-surg across diverse specialties, sharpening her assessment and patient advocacy skills, followed by over 4 years in intensive care units (ICU) where she mastered high-stakes interventions and compassionate end-of-life support.
PMHNP Certification and Clinical Depth
Pursuing her passion for mental health, Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Regis College and achieved ANCC board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) in December 2021, holding CANS certification specialized for child and adolescent needs assessment. She gained 4 years of experience in previous private practice as a PMHNP before founding Open Oaks Mental Health and Wellness, PLLC in August 2025, drawing on over 10 years in labor and delivery (L&D) for unique perinatal insights, and delivering targeted telehealth medication management with supportive therapies for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and perinatal mood changes in clients of all ages.
Education and Teaching
Amanda contributes to nursing education as adjunct faculty at UMass Lowell’s BSN program, teaching behavioral and mental health theory to the next generation of nurses. Previously, she served as an adjunct clinical instructor for Maternal Child Health clinicals and regularly mentors senior capstone students in her L&D RN role, sharing real-world insights to prepare the next generation of compassionate caregivers.
Personal Life and Philosophy
In her personal life, Amanda is a loving mom to 4 children, devoted wife, and joyful pet parent to 3 dogs and 2 cats—treasuring family time, reading, all genres of music, and podcasts in those rare spare moments that keep her grounded and inspired. Balancing part-time L&D night shifts with warmth and resilience, she brings that same flexibility and empathy to Open Oaks, creating personalized telehealth plans focused on your accessibility, safety, and path to true empowerment.
